Straightening your teeth no longer means committing to a mouth full of metal. Great Falls Dental offers Invisalign clear aligners in Somersworth, NH, a modern, discreet way to create the smile you’ve always wanted. Invisalign uses a series of custom-made, nearly invisible aligners that gradually shift your teeth into place, so most people won’t even notice you’re straightening your teeth.

Invisalign is a great option for both teens and adults, and it can address crowded teeth, gaps, and bite issues. Whether you’re hoping to improve your confidence, your oral health, or both, our team is here to guide you every step of the way.

The Advantage Over Braces

Traditional braces have been straightening teeth for decades, but they come with trade-offs many people would rather avoid. Metal brackets and wires are noticeable, can irritate your cheeks and gums, and often come with a list of foods you have to give up. Invisalign aligners are made of smooth, clear plastic, so they’re far less visible and generally more comfortable to wear day to day. Because they’re removable, you can eat what you want, and you never have to learn to floss around wires.

Keeping your teeth clean is also easier with Invisalign. With braces, food and plaque can collect around the brackets, which makes brushing and flossing more of a chore. With aligners, you simply take them out and care for your teeth the way you always have. Many patients also find that treatment requires fewer trips to the office than braces, since you receive several sets of aligners at a time and switch to each new set at home. That said, every smile is different, and braces can still be the better choice for some complex cases. That’s why we start with a consultation: so we can recommend what will work best for you.

Why Choose Invisalign?

Nearly invisible, so you can straighten your teeth discreetly
Removable for eating, brushing, and flossing
No metal brackets or wires
Comfortable, custom-fit aligners
Fewer office visits than traditional braces for many patients
Can address crowding, gaps, and bite concerns
Suitable for teens and adults

What to Expect with Invisalign

Your Invisalign journey starts with a consultation at our Somersworth, NH office, where we’ll examine your teeth, talk through your goals, and let you know whether Invisalign is the right fit. If it is, we’ll take digital scans or impressions of your teeth and use them to map out a personalized treatment plan. That plan shows how your teeth will move over time, so you’ll have a clear picture of the process and the expected timeline before you begin.

Once your custom aligners are ready, we’ll have you come in to try on your first set and make sure they fit comfortably. We’ll show you how to wear and care for them, and answer any questions before you head home. From there, you’ll switch to a new set of aligners every few weeks, with each set moving your teeth a little closer to their final position. We’ll schedule regular check-ins along the way to track your progress and make sure everything is on schedule. When your treatment is complete, we’ll provide a retainer to help protect your new smile for years to come.

Wearing Your Aligners

Invisalign works best when you wear your aligners consistently, usually around 20 to 22 hours a day. The good news is that they’re easy to build into your routine. You’ll take them out to eat and drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss, then pop them right back in. Many patients find it helpful to keep their aligner case with them so they always have a safe place to store them during meals.

Taking care of your aligners is simple. Rinse them regularly, brush them gently, and keep them clean to prevent buildup and odors. Avoid hot beverages while wearing them, since heat can warp the plastic, and always brush your teeth before putting them back in so food doesn’t get trapped underneath. It’s normal to feel some pressure for a day or two when you begin a new set, and it usually fades quickly. If you ever have questions or concerns during treatment, our team is just a phone call away.
